Festive Greetings from Bangor Swimming Club & SISCC Report etc…

Merry Christmas to everyone at Bangor Swimming Club, and to all our friends in the world of swimming. 2017 has been a phenomenal year for the club, with standout success at so many levels. Our coaching team has to be commended for not only delivering results in the water, but navigating the club through enormous change as we adopt the new structure and Passport Scheme.  Our club has been awarded Swim Ireland Club of the year, Swim Ireland Regional Club of the year (Ulster), and our head coach Paul Dennis has been awarded Swim Ulster Performance Coach of the Year.

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without something special to share, and with focus on the Euro Meet in Copenhagen coinciding with the Swim Ireland Short Course Championships, we wanted to take this opportunity to highlight our swimmers success in Lisburn, tearing it up at the flagship domestic short course meet.

As you may recognise, four of our swimmers above are also coaches within the club, a loyalty and commitment to the club we are extremely proud of. We had many other finalists at the SISCC – too many to mention here!!

Our Christmas gala was fun, crazy, madness, and everything we could have wished for. Thank you to all who contributed their time to make it a success. Many of our coaches and level 7 swimmers came to help out, which was really great to see. Many wonderful works of art were created on the whiteboards, and kickboard houses, and of course some great swimming.

Our next big event is the Bangor Winter Open Meet –  we look forward to seeing you there. Again, Merry Christmas to you all and hope you have a wonderful festive period.nAs you get ready to get a sound nights sleep and dream about what Santa might bring, here’s a very brief montage on the year we’ve had – we hope you like it. Again thanks to all for your support and looking forward to another standout year for this phenomenal swimming club.
