Bangor swimmers dominated the news today on day 1 of the Irish Nationals.
Jamie Graham came 2nd in the 50m Breastroke prelims with a time of 28.57, only 0.57 off 1st place Darragh Greene of UCD.
Jordan Sloan broke the Irish 200m freestyle record with a 1:47.4 in the prelims. Jordan has stamped his authority on the competition with his first swim. Jack McMillan came home second in 1:51.89, and both swimmers clearly in a great position for the finals.
It was then Conor Ferguson’s time to shine as he posted a 54.65 in the 100m backstroke, leading the prelims by over 3 seconds. Conor looks in great shape for the finals.
In the 400m freestyle relay, Bangor A team comprising David Thompson, Jack McMillan, Conor Ferguson and Jordan Sloan broke the Irish Club relay record, with a time of 3:23.38.
All in all, a great start to the Nationals. Let’s Go Bangor!!
