Swim Ireland require volunteer officials from each club to allow gala’s to be able to run according to FINA rules. They allocate each club, in advance, the officials they are required to provide for each event based on the number of swimmers participating in each gala.
Bangor Swimming Club therefore MUST provide the required number of officials or our swimmers may not be allowed to compete. Subsequently we need parents of swimmers to assist in officiating e.g. time-keeping throughout the year.
-
To avoid certain parents bearing the brunt of the work a rota system will be used to be fair to everyone.
When a gala is coming up please check the Club notice board at the spectator viewing area or the display cabinet in the foyer to see if you are due to officiate.
This notice will be displayed on or before the Tuesday Club Night before each gala and on the website.
If in exceptional circumstances you are unable to fulfil your allocated slot please don’t ignore it and contact our Gala Secretary who will hopefully have time to call in some help.
We thank you in advance for your continued co-operation to allow Bangor Swimming Club to remain at the forefront of swimming in Ireland.
