Exist Criteria for moving from BSC Age Group 2 Squad to the Age Group 1 squad are currently:
- Meet 3 Swim Ulster qualifying times in competition for their age group as listed in the Swim Ulster hand book on page 18
- One of the 3 qualifying times must be in the 400m Freestyle
- Attendance: A swimmers attendance record will be taken into consideration.
- Coaches Discretion: BSC employee qualified coaches who ultimately have the final say as to whether they believe a swimmer is ready to progress out of there squad.
Squad members are generally only moved at the end of the year to coincide with the completion of the squad training plan. However on a case by case basis, swimmers who have achieved a certain level are eligible for cross over training between the Age Group 2 and Age Group 1 squads. This will involve attending a mixture of sessions between the two squads. By taking this approach the swimmer is eased into the more strenuous commitments of the Age Group1 squad. Qualification times for cross over training are set by the BSC coaching team.
