WePlay: Inspiring Girls In Sport

Swim Ireland is delighted to announce details of a one day conference for 12-18 year old females involved in sport, exploring health and well-being as a competitive athlete.

The conference, hosted by Swim Ireland, will be open to athletes from all sports and will see some of Ireland’s top female athletes come together on what promises to be a great day.

The Aqua Challenge today has been a fantastic success. We would like to thank the committee members, coaches, team managers and helpers who organised this event, promoted the event to club members across the squads, and volunteered on the day to make it such a fun event for all concerned. We would also like to thank everyone who came along, and supported the club with sponsorship contributions. Our younger athletes had a ball, and really got into the spirit of the event. This is definitely one to pencil in for next year. The club relies on fundraising events, such as this to operate successfully, and from this event over £1,000 was raised for the club’s operations. The results are listed in the file below. Bearing in mind there was a fair amount of shamozzles, jostles, wrestles, flips, sideswipes, rugby tackles, and other ever-so-slightly unsportsmanlike behaviour which was mostly hilarious to watch, we have to conclude that a fair amount luck was involved in leader-board placing..
